Finally! My BIG PROJECT Revealed!

Well, I finally managed to find the time to finish my BIG PROJECT! These are all of the cards used as Samples in my Stitching Cards by Carolivy Book on CD (available on my site Custom Creations by Carolivy) Almost all of the 3-D's used on these cards are available on the Companion CD. Along with the patterns, in the book I have include Tutorials on the Gamsol Technique, Watercolor Pencil Technique and How To Make Curved Text with Stitched Sentiments.
This Snow Couple is finished with White Pearl Acrylic Paint and there is Glitter Paint on the roof of the house.

This card is an example of a pattern that can be Beaded or done with the Lazy Daisy Stitch.

This pattern was inspired by a Tea Bag.

This pattern has both a Long Version and a Square Version.

A sample of the Sentiments and my very first Computer only painting.

The Long Version of the Flourish Edging.

A very colorful Guitar.

A very simple Cat pattern.

This Butterfly pattern also has a Long and a Square Version.

The Square Version, plus a Sample of the Curved Stitched Text.

A Bugle Bead and Seed Bead Snowflake.

A complicated, but beautiful pattern when finished, this pattern can also be done with beads.

Now, we ALL knew there just HAD to be Ivy somewhere here, didn't we? lol

This Santa is the one used in the Gamso Tutorial.

This Santa is the one used in the Watercolor Pencil Tutorial.

Cards made from Fred She Said Images

Well! I have been a very bad girl for not posting here! I have been making cards though. I have been working on my BIG PROJECT too and I will be posting (unveiling) it tomorrow...here!
In the meantime, I thought I would catch you up with some of the cards that I have been doing. I got some stuff off of Tracey's site Fred, She Said...The Store and have been having a ball with it!
I also got a Cuttlebug recently with several folders and a set of Round Scallop Nestabilities. Ooooh, boy! Are those all fun to play with too!

This set comes uncolored. I colored the dallion in Photoshop using the Gradient Tool.
The Wreath on this card is done with the Nestabilities. Both were embossed as well. I skipped one size when I cut the center one.

Don't you just love this one!? Oh, Emma is just adorable! I added some Glamour Dust to the top of the snow mound as well as the pompom on Emma's hat.

This one is very 3-D illusional! I cut small slits right next to the center layer to thread the ribbon under, to enhance the 3-D look of this card.

One of my favorite monsters! Thank you Nolan! The backing paper started out as some Shaving Cream Paper, then I scanned it into the computer and played with the color, so I guess this is Computer Generated Shaving Cream Paper...lol

Gregrry (another monster by Nolan-Tracey's son)

Well, I finally found time to take another break to play with Gregrrry (another monster created by Nolan, son of Tracey from Fred She Said) I really like the way he turned out. The backing paper is made in Photoshop using the tile I used for the flower, which was made by Scrapgirl from Circle of Crafters. I printed the tile on the back of a fairly lightweight scrapbook paper to get the pink with dots for the back of the tile.
This card will be going out to one of our Circle of Crafter members who is going through some real health challenges right now. Hope it brings a smile to her day.

Gloopy from Nolan (Tracey's son)

Well, I had to play with Gloopy! He is just so adorable! I played with him in Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 and made him look very 3-D. All of the printed elements of this card come from Tracey (Fred, She Said) (Thank you so much Tracey for letting me have fun with this!) Nolan recieves $.20 for every card made and posted of his monsters. I can tell you that I will be playing with Gloopy again. I have yet to play with his other one.

Blogging Friends 4 3v3r --- Award

Well, you could have blown me over with a feather when I got an email from my friend Mada! I am sooo new to Blogging, I'm still not really sure of what I am doing here, but here goes. ;-)

Mada Nominated me for the Blogging Friends Forever Award!
Now the way I understand it, the rules are as follows:

The rules of this award are............
1. Only 5 people allowed. (to be nominated)
2. 4 have to be dedicated followers of your blog
3. One (1) has to be someone new or recently new to your blog and live in another part of the world.
4. You must link back to whoever gave you the award.

Well, like Mada, I am so new I don't know that I have dedicated followers (who are fellow Bloggers), so I will have to pick Friends and Favorite Places

So now, my picks would be:

1. Jen (one of the first Blogs I ever visited)
2. Penny Wessenaeur (without whom Tea Bag Folding would be no fun!)
3. Amanda (I just love her cards and she lives in a country where my family emigrated from eons ago)
4. Pamela (I just recently found her, but she has the most awesome tatted items you will ever see! I'm not just about cards....lol)
And finally, someone new to my Blog and from another part of the World
5. Joanne (She may be new to my blog, but I have been on hers many times! I love her cards, they are awesome!)

Thank you Mada for a wonderful gift!

New Cut-out Card Set now ready

I recently saw a card that I loved the concept for except that it was a square card, and I don't do square cards because of the increased postage cost to myself and my customers. So, I took a break from my project and made a 3-D set to make 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 cards with the same concept. The set is now available at Custom Creations by Carolivy. The set has 4 card fronts (2 each of the 2 different snowflakes), 6 backing papers, sentiments, 3 Tea Bags and several extra snowflakes for embellishment.

Here I have shown how I finished off 2 of the cards that I finished today.
The Tea Bag medallion on the second card is using one of the tea bag tiles from the set and my new Radiant Star fold (also posted on my web site, free)

Here is a close-up of one of the sets of snowflakes. I discovered today that using Clear Fingernail Polish with Glitter in it, my colors didn't bleed, like happens a lot when I use most glitter glues!

Took a Break and made this

Took a break from my project and made this card for the Tea Bag Challenge on Circle of Crafters
The backing paper is from my Backing Papers 2 CD, the tile is one of mine and the fold is Jeannie Pelletreau's Xing fold, variation 9. The 3-D and stitching is from Anne's Paper Art. I have used purple and deep yellow machine polyester embroidery threads.

For all those who have been waiting....

The CD I have been working on, Tea Bag Tiles and Tea Bag Backers, is now available on my web site, Custom Creations by Carolivy. Included on the CD are all of the sample cards that several of the ladies from Circle of Crafters have done for me. I have also included a 2 CD special with the very first CD I made that includes Tea Bag sets with Backing Papers. Many of the sets in each CD will co-ordinate with each other.

Final Test Card for New CD

This will be my last Test Card for the new CD. I just have to put the finishing touches on the CD now.

This card is done with the Marsh Marigolds set and Sue's (of Circle of Crafters ) Poppin' Kites fold with an alternate join. The center of the medallion is an amber gem. This picture really shows how the medallion really pops up off of this card so nicely. Backing was printed on cream colored textured cardstock.
For the Happy Birthday, I just altered the size of one of the 8 pt Stars by squishing and stretching it to fit the size I needed. The same thing with the corners. They are just bits of the same "ribbon" used in the center of the card.

One done on Wallpaper

This card uses for backing paper, some of a roll of Wallpaper that I got from a second hand store for $.50! One of the best places to look for unusual papers I have found! I have rolls of wallpaper now for cardmaking! This particular one is white on white stripes with a pearl sheen to it. I have used the Browns set from my up and coming Tea Bag Tiles and Tea Bag Backers CD and have used Penny's Picture Tile fold for the medallion. I have added some gold peel-off accents to the wallpaper. The layering of the 8 pt Stars and "ribbon" was done on the computer, then cut out and 3-D'd with double sided foam sticky tape to give it some more dimension. I also put foam tape under the medallion. The brad is a mini copper brad.

New card with Lacé

Here is another of my new tile sets. This one I did some Lacé on the "ribbon. I traced the edge of the white part of the Lacé with a Glitter pen in Yellow before I folded them.
I layered 3 of the TB Backers (8 pt Stars) then used an EK Success Corner Heart Punch to punch out each of the corners and folded them towards the back and then layered it on top of another 8 pt Star in the same color as the last layer using foam sticky tape. The medallion is done using my Diamonds with Floating Squares fold. The mini brad goes through both medallion and Backer.

Here is a close up of the Backer. The folded over portions are only being held down by the medallion.

Just for You...in Pink

Here is one more card I have made while testing out the new sets for my Tea Bag Tile and Tea Bag Backer CD coming out soon. This set is the Pink Hyacinth set. I did all of the layering on the computer again. Have done some accenting this time with some peel-off waste. The fold is a Variation on a Kite fold by Joanne of Circle of Crafters.

Another New Card

Here is another new card made from one of the sets from my soon to be released Tea Bag Tile and Tea Bag Backer CD. The fold is the Xing fold by Jeannie Pelletreau. All layering was done on the computer this time.

Another new layout from the up-and-coming CD

Here is another card that I have made while testing out the sets for the TB Tile and TB Backers CD. I have used another fold by Sue (suerich) of Circle of Crafters. This one is the Diamond 'n' Triangles fold. I have done a lot of 3-D with this card, layering each TB Backer with foam sticky tape. The "ribbons" also have foam sticky tape under them to give them some depth. I used Opal Glitter Glue around the triangle cut tiles and the white square to give the card a little "glitz".

First Card testing out New TB Tile Set CD

I just this morning finished the design work for the New CD that I was working on with TB tile sets, TB backers and "ribbons" This is the first of several cards I will make testing out the sets to make sure they print out nice before I put it up for sale on my site. Hopeful date for release is June 23rd.

I used the set called Christmas for this card. There are 10 tiles in each set and 7 different backers as well as 2 different straight "ribbons" I had a bit of a play with the ribbon here, just to show that you don't have to keep them straight. ;-)
The fold is the Fusion Fold, designed by Sue (suerich) from Circle of Crafters.

I have made this card to send to a very special friend. The backing paper again is from my Backing Paper 2 CD (have lots of them printed out...lol) The stitching and 3-D are from Anne's Paper Art. The threads used are from Threadart. Have added some extra Bling to make it stand out more.

CD Calendar

I got this idea from Jen. I have used papers from my Backing Papers 2 CD. I have extended the colors of the papers to cover the whole page. There are only 6 pages,
as each page is backed by another
month. The months not in use are stored in the base of the CD case.

No Tools Flower for Joanne's Challenge

Well, I just had to try Joanne's No Tools Flower. I think I may have made it just a tad tooo large. lol The backing paper is from my new Backing Paper 2 CD I used Pink copy paper to make the flower and Purple Crayola Colored Pencil. I had lots of fun making this, but next time I will definitely make it a bit smaller.
